Mountain TimeA significant portion of our licenced commercial recreation area is located in the world famous Purcell Wilderness Conservancy. The Conservancy boasts true pristine wilderness, restricted by the BC government to non-motorized access, and is protected from the industrial and recreational development. Inside the Conservancy we travel by horseback, hiking, and skis. Outside the conservancy, in addition to horse and foot travel, we also have motorized access options. Summer adventures include both front and back country horse trips, photo safaris, hiking, and rafting. Calamity Creek Outfitters also guide a limited number of flyfishing clients on the St. Mary River to some of the best wild trout fishing in North America. Winter adventures include back country ski touring, cross country ski photo safaris, and snow shoeing. The Hungry Creek Lodge is available on a limited basis for private gatherings and corporate meetings in both summer and winter. |
